blog post

First Post

This is my first entry. I’ve started and re-started this entry a dozen times trying to find the perfect introduction. And I simply can’t find one. So… I’ll start here. I’m 34 years old. I live in Japan. Like many foreigners living in Japan, I’m an assistant language teacher (ALT). I live not in Tokyo, but another semi-big city to the north named Sendai. I like writing, the outdoors, traveling, video games, and delicious food. I’ve enjoyed a few extracurricular activities while living in Japan. I’ve taken ballet classes, muay thai classes, and frequently perused the gym.

I don’t exactly know what I want to blog about and after living in Japan for nearly three years, I probably should have started sooner. But I want to write about my life here, maybe post some photos here and there. If tuning in to read about my daily life in Japan sounds interesting, I would implore you to stick around.

I barely know half the thing about blogs or websites. I’m not great with technology, so just know that I’m trying my very best. Feel free to message me with any tips or suggestions.

I know I want to write about the reality or, rather, my reality of living in Japan. The unfiltered view of my life and, like everyone’s life, it’s not always sunshine and rainbows. I live in Japan, but I may not always live in Japan. I may not always paint the most flattering picture of life in Japan, and that’s okay. I want my blog to reflect my reality and my lived experience. And sometimes it’s boring or messy, and that’s okay. I’m just looking forward to writing and if no one reads this, at the end of the day, it’s just for me. I just have a passion to write. I’ve kept a diary since I was thirteen years old. I have some experience with writing about my daily life. So here’s to a (hopefully) successful blog experience!
